Black borders on monitor windows 7. After win10s installation my external monitor has black borders. Did you reinstall the drivers before or after the border problem. This border appears on all sides accept the bottom.
1280x800 notice the black borders of dead space. Boot into Safe Mode and see if you have the black border there. I can change to a lower resolution 1360 x 768 to get rid of the black frame but the recommended reso is 1920 x 1080.

Published applications launch without issue but may have a black border at the top bottom side or completely surrounding the application.
I dont have the problem on Windows 7 on the same machine as its a dual boot. Youre using a different aspect ratio so youre guaranteed to get black borders unless the picture is stretched to fit. Because each monitor is different the method of adjusting this setting vary.
To calibrate your monitor look for an AUTO button or something similar on the front of the monitor itself. It always looks terrible like this too. I cant find any options to fully fill fit the screen so I dont see the black border.
Ive messed a lot around with NVIDIA Control Panel after this especially tried all settings in Adjust desktop size and position but with no luck. A new window will appear. The user is usually using Multiple Monitors.
